When they offer you water from Wales, you take it!

Co-worker and major food lover KM managed to score dinner at The French Laundry for her birthday. A friend of KM's wrote about their dinner here. It sounds truly amazing.

I would like to make it to the FL one day, although there are so many other top-notch restaurants that I have yet to make it to (like Boulevard, Fifth Floor, Gary Danko, Aqua, Chez Panisse), despite some of them being in my immediate neighborhood! Fortunately I did manage to get to Fleur de Lys once, which was quite definitely the best meal of my life, easily beating the previous record holder, the Commander's Palace. (Which is not to say that CP does not have some damn fine food -- it's excellent.)

Bad move

This is old news, but I just read about it: back in early 2003, Netgear sold hundreds of thousands of home routers that aggressively attempted to get time information from the University of Wisconsin's NTP server, resulting in a massive flood of traffic to the university's network and no way to turn it off.

How in the world did this get through product development? Frightening.
